Editor's Note
Besides
acting as a log of all the locomotives and multiple units in
service on British Railways during 1959 this book also usefully
includes the various detail differences in individual examples of the
particular classes.
It is considered that the identifying
numbers of individual cars in diesel and electric multiple units are of
less significance than the numbers allocated to complete units (where
applicable) so these numbers have been omitted from this scanned
edition of the book. However,
the photos of examples of these types have been retained.
